"Bouncing" an e-mail or post in a newsgroup is done to get the headers and html coding used, allowing the bouncer to learn or "borrow" an image, etc. . There are a few methods to bounce, I like the first one. . Bouncing an e-mail is slightly different than bouncing a post using this method: . To bounce an e-mail: . Hit: "FORWARD" (left sidebar). . Remove your sig, address to yourself and erase the "subject" line. . With the cursor on the subject line, move it down into the message area, the click: enter/return 2 times. . Then: ALT & Z, get this: § . CMD & A, CMD & X . Put the cursor on the subject line, CMD & V, § will jump down a bit. . Click "SEND" and returned mail will be bounced. To bounce a post: . Click: "OPTIONS" (bottom row). . Click: "SEND". . Click: "FORWARD". . Remove your sig, address to yourself and erase the subject line. . With cursor on subject line, move it down to the message area, then click: enter/return 2 times. . ALT & Z, get this: § . CMD & A, CMD & X . Put cursor on subject line, CND & V, § will jump down a bit. click SEND and return mail will be bounced. . From: paulding.net email sources: "Bounce" emails and newsgroup posts to reveal headers or html markup - and as a bonus, you can give most (base64-encoded) mime attachments a url transloading! simply forward posts to: bounce@paulding.net and you'll receive a reply in about 2 minutes (assuming that your email server is running ok). . Another method, placing a bit of html coding in the message area (with nothing preceding the coding) Like so: (html)(xmp) { remove the: ( & ) and replace with: left & right carots (arrows) } Smallifying or quoting is done by first using "cut, copy & paste" (CC&P) like so: To cut, copy & paste: -Click: "FIND", type a bit of text or code to be copied. -Click: RETURN/ENTER". this high lights what you typed. -Hold: "SHIFT" & "DOWN ARROW", to high light the text or code you want. -Hold: "CMD & C". this copies the text or code wanted. -Place: cursor where you want the text or code. -hold: "CMD" & _just_ tap_ "v". this PASTES the text or code. You can then "edit" out anything you don't want, using the above and CMD & X instead of: CMD & C A more thorough discription can be found here: http://members.tripod.com/~leprofesseur/cut-paste.htm . To quote or Smallify: -Place: cursor at start of _1st_ line of text. -Type: the ">" symbol. using 2 or 3 ">" will further indent the text. -Hold: "CMD & RIGHT arrow" keys. -Click: "RETURN/ENTER" and repeat the above for the rest of the text, till finished. the effect won't be noticed till viewing the post or message. . And we now have access to these smallifying tools, making it easier to smallify a large amount of text: . http://www.angelfire.com/mt/jdhardball/smallifier.html . http://paulding.net/bin/easyquoter.cgi . http://www.expandinghead.com/js/smallify.html . http://community-2.webtv.net/denison/yoursmall/index.html |
