DVD HOOK-UP GUIDE:
http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/510-how-to-hook-up-dvd-player.html

A DVD Player must be hooked directly into the TV, not pass through any other device. An A/B switch for the S Video will do. The Audio can be passed through other devices.

How do I connect my DVD Player?
DVD > TV Most DVD players don't have RF outputs so you have to use your TV's audio/video (or s-video) inputs for the cable coming from the DVD player's audio/video outputs. Then switch your TV to your video source input to view a DVD movie.

If you only have one audio/video input on your TV, and it is already used, then you will need an a/v switch. If your TV has an s-video input try to get a switcher that also has s-video connections. It will yield a better picture then the standard rca type video input.

If your TV does not have video inputs you will have to use a video RF modulator that converts the line level video signals into RF signals that you can then view on channel 3 or 4 of your TV.

If you only have one RF input then you will need an A/B switch also. This will allow both RF devices to share the single input. Some DVD specific modulators have a built in A/B Switch.

If you have an Audio/Video or Surround Sound Receiver that has inputs for all your components, and you want to use it, please use the connection diagrams in the manual.

Note: You CAN NOT use your VCR to convert the audio/video signal to RF
for your TV. It may work but the picture will not be acceptable. This was done on purpose so that people would not be able to copy their DVD movies.

Thanks to Michael Donnelly, here's his instructions for connecting a DVD:
===========================
The rf jack is easiest, however if youare willing to do a little work (which gets easier after the first time ) then you can have it whenever you want.

The alternate way to get the dvd to be in the pip with pic n sound (using the av jacks instead of ch3) is to plug in the ir blaster and go into tv home/settings/hooking up. Like this:
-
1)unplug the webtv unit and dvd
-
2)connect the video and audio jacks to the top row of av connectors on the webtv plus . if you have a new plus and your dvd player is so equipped, use the cable to hook the dvd player's s-video output to the webtv s-video input
-
3)connect the ir blaster
-
4)plug in the webtv and the dvd player
-
5)goto tv home/settings/hooking up
-
6)tell it you have a cable box and that the cable box is hooked to the av jacks.
-
7)the dvd player will play through the pip this method bypasses the tunerin the webtv box and allows stereo pass through as well as a better pcture quality. I did this with my plus and xbox, my plus and Motorola 4DTV, my plus and Ultimate TV, etc.

TV/VCR COMBO CONNECTIONS:

Connect this way:
Coax cable from wall or cable box to IN Webtv plus.
OUT Webtv plus to IN VCR/TV combo using coax or A/V cables or both.

Setup the Webtv plus this way:
1. Go to Web Home
2. Click on TV Home
3. Select Settings
4. Select Channels

Using your Arrow keys, place your "yellow highlight box" (cursor) over Channel #3, without clicking on Done or anything else, back out of there using your Back key.

Be sure not to move your cursor (or yellow highlight box) off of the Channel 3 before you back out.

Now, go to Web Home and try your PIP.
If it still doesn't work, repeat all of the above steps, but this time, use Channel 4.

Also, be sure that if your TV is not cable-ready, you have the TV tuning knob set to the same channel as you have used in the above procedure!

To go to Home screen instead of TV Home, Go to TV Home page/settings/dialing/power button/put a check in auto connect & done.
