New MSNTV 2 Player Upgrade -

Date: Wed, Jun 14, 2006

They added a "Show current" button to the Type WWW box as we've always wanted, among a few other good added features. Here's what the upgrade contains:

Dear MSN TV Subscriber,
We have an update for your MSN® TV service with several new features and improvements. We are constantly working to make the MSN TV service the best it can be for our valued subscribers, and we use your feedback to guide our efforts.

Thank you for the positive response to our recent updates. We think you'll like this one too - it includes a new Maps feature, several Web navigation improvements, more printing options and video enhancements.

If you've already set up auto-update, the update will happen automatically. If you'd like to set up auto-update, visit Settings and choose Automatically check for mail and updates, and then choose the time you'd like your updates to take place. After you take the update, you will be sent an e-mail describing the new features that are included.

MAP YOUR DESTINATION
Visiting someplace new and need directions? Try our new Maps feature. Just choose Maps from the list of icons at the bottom of your home page. Enter the starting and destination addresses to get driving directions, or view a street map or aerial view.

SURF EVEN FASTER
You may notice faster surfing speed, as we've made some behind-the-scenes improvements to make Web pages load faster.

ACCESS MORE WEB SITES
We've made several Internet compatibility and media improvements, to enable you to visit more sites and view more media content than before.

KEEP YOUR RESIZED PAGES
If you like the way your Web pages look after you've expanded them, there's good news. Your pages will stay resized as you go to other Web sites, until you press the Resize Page button on the keyboard. You'll know your pages have been resized when you can scroll left to right, and when you see two green arrows in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

TYPE WEB ADDRESSES MORE EASILY
From the Type www panel, if you type in a Web address and forget to include .com, it will automatically search for .com or other suffix for you. Of course, you'll get to pages faster if you type in the suffix yourself, but if you forget it, there's no need to retype it.

The Type www panel box will remain pre-filled with the last Web site you typed. You can scroll across to make adjustments if needed, or just start typing to replace the address that's there. We've added a button on the Type www panel box called Show current Web address, which provides the address of the Web page you are currently on.
SEE WHERE YOU'RE GOING
Now when you navigate to a new page, the progress bar tells you which Web page you are going to, instead of the previous 'Please wait ...' message.

PREVIEW WHAT YOU PRINT
No more printing pages or sections you don't need. Now you can go to a Web page, choose Print, and then choose Preview to see what's set to print. If it's not what you wanted, readjust the setting to print what you want. You can also zoom
in for a closer look at what's selected.

CHOOSE FROM MORE PRINTERS
The list of printers that work with MSN TV 2 has been expanded to include the Epson Stylus C88, and three Epson printers that support 4x6 photo printing â€" the Stylus Photo R220, the PictureMate Express, and the PictureMate Deluxe.

CHOOSE HOW YOU WATCH VIDEOS
Now when you play videos, you will start in full-screen viewing mode. If you choose to hide the video screen while doing other things, you'll see a small preview window of the video in the status bar. Simply choose Player on the keyboard to bring the video back to full screen.

READ THE TIME ON YOUR MAIL
Your e-mail will show the time in your local time zone, rather than GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). If your time zone info is not correct and you want to change it, from the home page, just choose Settings, and select Time zone settings.

AN UPDATE TO EBAY USERS
With this update, we've made even more improvements to significantly reduce player slowdown and freezing issues caused by visiting eBay.

Thank you for your continued support of MSN TV. We hope you enjoy the update.

OK, they keep tweaking the Player with new features that make it better as well as adding features that our old LBB's have long had.
So, if we all can just hang on for a few more years, they may make the MSNTV 2 Player into a more popular toy?
