"Hi.  My name is Reese.  I'm a gold and black mask Shih Tzu.  I was born on August 21, 2000.  My Mommie has always been involved with animals.  She use trained and shown horses but because of her children growing up, Mom's time has been limited.  Mommie has missed the interaction she had with the horses and when I came to live with her, Mommie knew I was special and she wanted to do something special with me.  At first, Mom thought she would "show" me, as she was told I would make a great conformation Shih Tzu, but after checking into it in the area, she decided that she would have me neutered and look into the area of "agility".  But before Mommie could get into that, she found my calling.  Prior to my moving in, Mom would volunteer her time at the local animal shelter and she would go with the workers when they took puppies to visit the local nusing home.  She enjoyed visiting these wonderful people and making them smile.  Because I was so warm and loving, Mom thought I would make a good Therapy Puppy.  So she called the nursing home and told them about me and asked if I could visit.  They said, "Yes!!"  So on February 9, 2001, I made my first visit to the nursing home.  I was a little nervous, but I ended up having a very good time.  I met alot of nice ladies and made lots of friends.  Mommie had a hard time leaving and taking me with her. Mommie and I have decided to do this weekly.  We get to have some lone bonding time, and I get to visit and socialize with the world's greatest people."
