the 11 listed above are the regular umpires we will be using for summer play. If you need to switch or need a replacement, please try them first.
If nobody available, try the people listed below. If still nobody available, then see if you can locate some other umpire you are aware of.
Call the league as a last resort. Also, notify the league AND have your replacement notify the league if you arrange a replacement.
If you miss a game without coverage, you may find yourself losing games.

Umpire assignments are normally on the schedule as xx/xx. Please check there before contacting the league.
If there is a ** the umpire has not yet been assigned.
Initials that are underlined are field prep assignments, not umpires.
Work out plate/base assignments with your partner - pay is the same.

Types of Play:
-------------------
Summer League (June-Oct) Sinsheimer plus Cuesta (playoffs).
2-man 9 inning - no new inning after 2:45 except semi and championship cannot end in tie.

Spring League (March-May) Sinsheimer. 2-man 9 inning - drop dead at 2:45 (rainout) except playoffs cannot end in tie.
Games play FULL 9 innings regardless of winner up to time limit.

Open Play (year round) Sinsheimer and Pismo Beach - SOLO Ump. No time limit.
9 FULL innings (no winner) but also continues until everyone has been at plate 4 times.
Pays regular ump fee plus $20. BATTER CANNOT WALK UNLESS FULL COUNT.
HBP IS A BALL. CI IS A BALL.

Umpire responsibility covers field play, pitch count, rules, and player decorum.
League takes care of time limits, score, batting order, substitutions, etc etc.

Normal Major League Baseball rules with following special items.

(a) runner must slide or avoid contact with catcher or may be ejected.

(b) runner must slide or abandon basepath to avoid collision on a force play or may be ejected.

(c) defensive player may not fake a play to make a runner slide unnecessarily. may be ejected

(d) offense/defense are platoon and batting order can have as many players as desired and players may miss at bats (handled by the league).
Umpire is not responsible for who is at plate.

(e) normal decorum/ejection procedures.

(f) At Sinsheimer, urinating other than in restrooms and/or smoking anywhere in stadium is cause for ejection.

(g) smoking in dugout or on field of play at ANY facility is cause for ejection.

(h) alcohol if detected at any facility can be directed to the league as it is cause for suspension far beyond normal ejection.

(i) ejections are almost always witnessed by the league, so no formal followup is required unless asked.
There are automatic additional suspensions leveled by the league for some ejection situations and repeat offenders.

If in doubt about any decision, you can ask the league for advice, but you can only be overridden during the game by your partner, not the league)
