Is a very big space out there! Our sun is a component of the nearly 100 billion stars that form the Milky Way galaxy. The Milky Way is just one of an estimated 100 billion galaxies that are spreaded among the universe. Those galaxies are separated from each other by millions of miles. Our solar system is located about 30,000 light years (a light year is the distance light travels in one year or about 9'460'000'000,000 km or 5.88 trillion miles.) from the center of the galaxy in one of its spiral arms. The Milky Way galaxy is about 100,000 light years in diameter and is part of a small group of about 30 galaxies that is about 3 million light years in diameter.
Not long ago space travel was a dream or a futuristic idea from a sci-fi writer, but now is a reality, and soon you will be ready for adventure. Soon will be here for everyone.
