"Intuition", the sixth sense, requires us to trust, not to know. ~Carol Ritberger Ph.D
Intuition is a clear and distinct knowledge, that frequently comes without knowing where the knowledge came from. It is a hunch, or a "gut" feeling. The knowledge is without prior knowledge, or the use of reason. It is our own inner guidance, or inner 'voice."
Intuition is an immediate insight, and the ability to see any event, object, or circumstance, from the cosmic "WHOLE", or higher spiritual standpoint.
Intuition is the language of the SOUL.
It is a vehicle through which our spirit expresses itself, in our external/ physical world. It can provide us with answers that our conscious mind can not.
Intuition can include feelings, thoughts, sensations, or just a "knowing" Most of the time, intuition is without pre-thought, and the knowledge is just present in the person's mind and the person may just feel a compelling force that "this is the thing to do" or this is "what you SHOULD do" It can also come in sudden bursts of insight, or flashes of awareness that come "out of the blue."
All individuals, possess the ability of intuition, however, it is more developed in some people, more than others.....
As children, most of us are brainwashed from a very young age, and told we are unable to do the natural psychic things, and use the unique magickal talents we were born remembering how to do it...... We were trained to discount, or repress our inner knowledge, and to purposely neglect it, devalue it, and refuse to recognize it as a message. We were told that we "cant do this, and we cant do that" and that we are "imagining things" to the point where finally, really believed that it was true, or we just stopped talking about it altogether, and eventually, we forgot how to use our psychic abilities.
This is why, many of us, have forgotten how to use our intuition.....however it is very easily remembered, and with a bit of practice, and it can once again, become a daily part of our lives.......
Anyone who has the will to do so, can 'remember' and re-develop their intuition.
Now I believe, that intuition, comes from our "Higher self"
To preface this, I believe that we all come here, with a "plan" in place for this lifetime here on earth, and a "plan" for the lessons we would like to learn here.....we set up a general "course" that we would like to follow, and what we want to accomplish, this time while we are here.......but the problem is, is that when we are born, shortly afterwards, we forget, what we wanted to do, and what we wanted to remember!!
But what I believe, is that Spirit, gave us intuition, to help us along our path in this life time, and to help us to remember those things
that we need to know, to stay as close on our intended path as possible......it tells us what we are suppose to be doing and learning, it helps us to make the correct decisions, it guides us on what path to follow, and what people to meet, and it keeps us out of unnecessary danger.
I believe, our intuition, is literally one of our 'road maps', to guide us through our lives :)
Here is a little bit more, about intuition:
Intuition is a function of the right hemisphere of the brain which is where our ESP or (Extra Sensory Perception) comes from....
Intuition functions on all levels:
the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
Each person may experience it differently. Some people may get physical sensations, such as tingling, a lead weight feeling in the stomach, a heaviness of the heart, or a feeling of 'dread'....They may get visions or flashes of "pictures", hear "inner voices" or just get a feeling of "knowing."
People who are in the creative arts and lend more energy to fantasy and imagination, tend to be more intuitive than those who don't, and women tend to be more intuitive than men, because it is known that women tend to use the right side of the brain, and men tend to use the left side of their brain more.
Intuition also tends to develop more so in close personal relationships, especially with partners.
An example of this, is when married couples read each others minds, or finish each other's sentences.
Studies show that the physical environment can enhance or inhibit intuition.
The ideal environment is paint with colors such as green or aqua, rooms lit with natural sunlight, with a temp between 70-73 degrees, and humidity at 60-70%. It has also been found that music put a person in a relaxed state, which causes the left and right hemispheres of the brain to work together in unison, which increases intuition. Plants are also helpful as they cleanse the air of all pollutants.
Last but not least, it also must be noted, that our higher self, is connected to everyone else's higher self, and therefore our higher self, unconsciously, gets information from everyone else's higher self.....and this not only helps to increase our higher knowledge but contributes to increasing the knowledge of our intuition, if we will only just "listen"
