Welcome to..

"Come together now... and let's gel!"

The sunlight is fading... bring on the night!

Ahhhh... that's more like it!

Now we're rockin'! Let's grab the 'scopes and go...

What telescope I choose to use varies with the "seeing" conditions... (or more precisely to the point, what type of mood I'm in!)

On nights where there is plenty of moon, or just generally poor conditions, I stick with my 4.5" Celestron reflector. This is the "workhorse" of my observations. Many years of practice with this 'scope makes it my constant companion!

But when the skies are exceptionally clear and dark... then it's time to break out the Meade 12.5
Starfinder dob!

My "best friend"...

My "ear" on the world... and my "eye" on the sky!
The Celestron 4.5 has been part of me for many years. I remains as comfortable as my old moccasins, and I use it constantly...

One armload of telescope!

The "Great White" 'Scope....

Even though this telescope takes me to my "theoretical limitations" carrying it out... the view is absolutely outstanding! So, neccessity is the mother of invention, is it not? So with some ingenuity, the gracious acquisition of an old hospital bed, some time spent with a torch and a welder, I gave birth to the "Grasshopper"...

(yeah, yeah... i know! this pic is more impersonal than i would care for it to be.. but hey! what can i say besides it's out in the backyard cooling down right now... ;)

And where do we plan on setting up this equipment?

Why in the backyard, of course!

Take a look for yourself...

As I've said...

There's nothing but farm ground...

(Sometimes under snow!)

All around!

"Say it once again...oh me, oh my oh...
We're free as the bird from rockin' Ohio!
'Cause I know, I know for sure...
That life is beautiful around the world."

--red hot chili peppers

And perhaps this old dog, to keep us company!

"Color me in any color.... Speak to me in tounges that share. Tell me how you love to hate me. Tell me that you really care...

Well, I just want... to shake us up! Let's mingle... and make it well. Come together now... and let's gel!"

(Gosh, I love my rock and roll almost as much as I love the stars!! ;)
