Kahlil Gibrain, the Lebanese Poet, wrote about parents and children. We would like to share this with you for two reasons: First, everything that this poet says is true of all of us, in very broad, powerful, and truly meaningful ways. Second, it offers a suggestion, as to how each of us, might demonstrate our love, to all present here today.
.

This is what Kahlil Gibrain was inspired to write:
"The Prophet: On Children" by Kahlil Gibran.
.
And a woman who held a babe against her said, Speak to us of Children. And he said: Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you, but not from you. And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love, but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies, but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

What does this poem tell each of us, about ourselves? How are each of us, everyone present here today, like an archer, a bow, and an arrow?
Tery and John are good examples for us to follow. God, The Master Archer, has followed the flight, the paths, of John and Tery, all their lives. And today, the paths of their arrows, are joined, side by side.
They have chosen to fly together, in their flight, through this life, and, into eternity.
.
Likewise, the Creator, has made of each of you, a bow. And what arrows may we send to each other, here, today?
.
Yes, what arrows can we send to each other? The answer?
Arrows of love.
of kindness.
of caring.
of smiles.
of appreciation.
Arrows of praise.
Arrows of inspiration.
loving words.
warm hellos.
of greeting each one you meet.
Arrows of making it a point to meet, and greet, each person, of smiling and saying, "hello."
of introducing yourself, to all whom you have not met. Arrows of bending the bow of your love, to send love to this bride and groom, their children, and all present here today.
.
Send out your arrows of love, with your words and actions, here today. In so doing, each of us bows, to the will of the Creator, who asks that we love each other.
This is God's will:
Bend your bow of love, to send arrows of love, to each other.
…Intro to your (BobKat's) own song "Over Flowing
Love".
