RACCOONS 7 (woodchucks 8)

Well, Kaitlin, it looks like you might be right! The raccoons are starting to catch up with the woodchucks. One more Rocky Roccoco Raccoon, and, it will be a tie. So, I have to put at least two big rivers between this raccoon and our house here at Bumpity Road.
Several of the cats seem facinated by Rocky (or is it, Rocki ?)and just sit and look.
Other cats, don't pay an attention at all. A friend of mine, Rene, and her 11 year old son, Tevin, have been here for four days now, and will be leaving this weekend. Rene is a social worker in Milwaukee, and also, was ordained as a Pathways of LIght Mininster at St Anne's Church in Milwaukee, five years ago.
I spoke at her Ordination Ceremony 5 years ago, and, met Bonnie Koehler there, on that very same day, for the very first time. When Bonnie met me again, two years later, at first she didn't recognize me. My hair was much longer, and I had loss weight. So, it was interesting, that all three of us were together for the second time in our lives.
Bonnie was here Wednesday and we saw the movie THE NOTEBOOK, in Portage. both of us were very moved by the movie, and I cried alot. Afterwards, we split a meal at The Tamrack and talked to my niece Tina (my sister Rose's eldest daughter, about the same age as Linette, and now a grandmother), she had just finished work tending bar, and so we had a chance to have a real nice chat.
Our waitress that night was Julianne, my nephew Tim's wife (Tim is my sister Rose's eldest son).
They were both at Our Family Reunion on Saturday with their children. As it turns out, I have been playing around the main patio (like a child with a sandbox, and the soil is, very sandy) planting vegetables instead of flowers.
And every week something different is popping up, or spreading out. One of the unique things about this garden is that it grows a lot of balloons.
Every few days, more balloons begin to blossom. Every time I go to town and visit the seed store, I keep my eyes open for balloon seeds, so I can plant some more. They kind of remind me of very colorful watermelons. Except that they blow in the wind. And, as you know, watermelons, don't blow in the wind. When the four of you picked watermelons last October, do you remember how many pounds of watermelons you picked and put on the haywagon? I had a bathroom scale and weighed every melon that was picked by all of you. Do you remember the number?
It was exactly 1,010 pounds of WATERMELONS. A hair over, half a ton. Time to get in my work clothes and see how the balloons and other things are growing.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
hugs,
Grandpa Thompson
