WELCOME, TO BUMPITY ROAD

.
Welcome, To Bumpity Road.
.
The purpose of this writing is to focus primarily on YOUR INVITATION, and a bit of what happens out here in the country, including some of what KAThy and Bob do, observe, and (sometimes humorously), think about it all.
..
In mid-November of 2004, (just a month before our 12-19-04 wedding at Pathways Of Light), we inititated AN OPEN DOOR Daily Journal, where we have doumented daily activities and thoughts, up to the present, at: http://community.webtv.net/anopendoor
.
Four decades ago, when the older of the six children, were much, much younger, they referred to the road coming down to the house as The Bumpity Road, because, it really, really was, quite Bumpity! :-)
.
The high hill, one mile and a half from here (on Turner Road), the children dubbed: The Top Of The World, because they could see so far.
.
(We often stopped there, in daylight, and moonlight, to view the awesome panorama).
.
And descending down The Top Of The World was an excited entering into The Valley Of Peace, which, of course, within minutes, led to The Bumpity Road, which at that time, ended at a 24 foot square cottage.
.
At that time, it had no running hot water.
.
(Under our Song Writings, at www.bumpityroad.org
you will find a song commemorating this, with the title: TOP OF THE WORLD).
.
With the passing of the decades, the children's use of the term "Bumpity Road, (sometimes shortened to "Bumpity"), has come to signify not only the 400 foot road, but the 9 bedroom Motel 9, the Sunrise and Sunset room additions, the walking path, and the ten vegetable gardens, .
.
in short, the whole 4008 square feet of housing and its nestling 20 acres.
.
Bumpity has a long history of offering, both temporary, and long term, sanctuary.
.
That many faceted, ongoing history, of peacefully and joyously, welcoming, is very much alive today.
.
The 20 grandchildren have inherited these traditions, with the attendant vocabulary.
.
As has a very diverse group of pilgrims, still trickling through doors, that have no locks.
.
You, and yours, are always welcome.
.
Anytime.
.
This invitation is always open
to you and your loved ones.
.
There is no curfew,
so, you may arrive at any hour.
.
Your food awaits you:
in the 3 refrigerators,
2 freezers,
and 2 pantries,
.
Your bed is made.
.
And we have left the light on. :-)
.
peacefully,
joyfully,
Bob and Kathy Thompson
.
We look forward to hearing from you at:
