These are my New Moon Healing Circle Tools.
My drum is named "Dream Time."
Many feathers adorn the Talking Stick...Turkey for gratitude, Pheasant for abundance, Crow for wisdom, red feathers for courage and the Lead Feather, the Guinea Hen...who tells all to Spirit.

All the feathers were gifted to me. Crow feathers find me. All the other feathers were given to me by friends who came to my circle...
EXECPT: the Guinea feather, that was a gift from Spirit!

A black ribbon is for the trials of life on the hard road...and a red ribbon represents the good red road which leads to harmony....

The large feather on the right side of the talking stick is for directing the smoke of the sage.in cleansing.

The large red leather bag, with Crow and Seagul feathers, contains my medicine circle stones...and the small medicine bag holds my power symbols.

My Mother contributed the Abalone shell which she found on the northeastern shores of Rhode Island.

NEW MOON HEALING CIRCLE It was over ten years ago that Doug and I attended a New Moon Healing Circle in the Big City about 100 miles from home. So powerful and moving were the healing circles that we drove the hundred miles each month for about a year, regardless of what day of the week it was or that it was near midnight when we returned home...!! it was worth it! This opened up a new direction in my life with more meaning than I could ever have imagined! It was through this inspiration that I decided to take up the work of the talking stick here at home. I hope to honor that small portion of Iriquois lineage I carry of my great, great, grandmother. I dedicate my circles and this page to her. Though I don't know her name, I call her Singing Water.

THE LIFE PATH Since that time, we've held many talking stick circles in my home or at a friend's or out in the country amidst the sound of tree frogs and locusts.. In my heart, I felt very close to the Earth Mother Energy and all her living things. Books sparked further interest about the various tribes, cultures, prophecies and the richness of their knowledge and connectedness. It's a beautiful way of seeing the oneness of all life and honoring the Spirit in all things. All are our Relations! You can't feel alone with that philosophy.

This style of drawing intriques me and it also works well in my handprint creations.
I love the symbolism and connectedness with the tobacco offerings and the colored prayer ties. It feels very peaceful to me.
