As an educator, Virginia Whitehead's goals are to develop in her students, the necessary skills to acquire confidence with a sense of accomplishment. They will learn sensitivity and the keys to artistic expression. She believes in goal oriented study by entering her students in recitals, workshops, Certificate of merit examinations and various competitive events throughout the year.


Virginia Whitehead has performed in New York and Los Angeles. She has won several first place awards from the International Piano Recording Competition, sponsored by the National Guild of Piano Teachers'. As a member of the Juilliard Chorus Ms Whitehead performed for Jaqueline Kennedy, with Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. This performance was for the grand opening of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. The performance was nationally televised and recorded by Columbia Records.

As an alumnus of the Juilliard School of Music, her tutelage was under Mieczeslav Munz and Josef Raieff.

Virginia Whitehead has been teaching privately, in the Los Feliz/Silver Lake area of Los Angeles, for over thirty-five years. As a member of the Music Teachers Association of California she was presented the "Outstanding Service Award" for serving as the Hollywood branch president for seven years. She also serves on the board of directors for the Southwestern Youth Music Festival.

Ms Whitehead teaches beginners (age six and up) as well as advanced and pedagogical studies for teachers.
