| The pictures were captured from "The Channel Channel". In Juneau, GCI cable channel 23 features a full time camera located at Salmon Creek. It is pointed northwest across the channel toward the Juneau Airport and Auke Mt. |

| Juneau tides are extreme, with almost 20 feet of variation. |
|
|
| A marked and navigable channel at high tide becomes mud and puddles at low tide. |
|
|
|
This northern end of the Gastineau Channel separates the Juneau mainland from the north end of Douglas Island.

Much of this area is, CLASSIFIED AS
WETLANDS, providing habitat for non-humanity. |
|
|
| All of these pictures were captured in late spring. The scene changes with time of year, as with tides, weather and time of day. |
