To make animations
with the Webtv PageBuilder at Image Magick
- Choose "create" to start a new webpage and select the "grey" page style or change an existing page to the "grey" page style.
- Add to the webpage all of the images you want in the animation using the method below for each image:
- Add an item
- Picture
- Your scrapbook | Video capture | Art Gallery
The first image added to the webpage will be the first frame of the animation; the second image added to the webpage will be the second frame of the animation; and so on.
- Publish the webpage and then go to Image Magick.
- Enter the url of the webpage ending it with a slash----- / ;
such as for this page I entered:
http://community.webtv.net/willxwill/animationtest/
- Click onto "view".
- Click onto "output" at the top of the page.
- Choose "gif" and "multiple-file frames".
- Use the "Optional Output Attributes" area on that page to change the speed and number of times for the animation to repeat:
- The "delay" area adjusts the speed of the animation.
- The "loop" area regulates the number of times the animation will repeat (enter-- 0 --for continuous looping).
- Choose "output" again and then click onto the thumbnail image and upload the image to your scrapbook using
http://www.mimes.com/s (or a similar scrapbook uploader),
or transload it elsewhere.
Unfortunately, if Webtv resumes using a banner ad at the bottom of its pages, that banner ad will also be added to the animation. A quick fix to block out that from happening is to add the opening script tag <script> at the bottom of your image page----it will block out all the remaining Webtv codes and the banner ad, but it is a violation of TOS to do so.
I do not know who discovered this method of making animations with the Webtv PageBuilder.
I used the three images below to make a quick animation test.
The resulting animation is on the next page.
